Rise Above Your Story!

I was injured at the age of 21 in 2011 in a mill I was working at in town to save for Beauty school. When my life took a turn in the wrong direction. My beauty school adventure was put on hold while I went through surgery after surgery to recover. When It was time to be re-trained WCB figured Medical office assistant was the answer. I jumped through all the hoopes and graduated in 2015, but still found I wanted to attend beauty school even with my limitations.

<<Background In Medical Office Assistant (MAP Certified) and will be diving deeper on different types of massage to help with many different conditions customers face today such as lymphatic.>>

I graduated from beauty school with 2 diploma’s in the span of 1 year 2016 and found I was really frustrated with diabetes being a contraindication to a lot of the services I was learning to do. Being as my family has had type 2 on both sides of my family. Naturally when you learn something new you want to be able to practice on your family. This frustration lead me to look further into diabetics & footcare with my education march 2017 with Aurora Beauty Co. Allowing me to have the knowledge on the condition further in depth and treat ingrown toenails, corn removals, toe reconstruction & fungal toe nails. I enjoyed the training and pedicure clients so much that I started to look for more!!!!

<<Certified Esthetician & Nail Tech from Blanche MacDonald, pre-empt certified. Advanced footlogix/LCN pedicurist certified from Aurora Beauty Co. Then I finished my raynor massage diploma(deep tissue massage, reflexology, tension release treatment) after my 16th surgery in August 2018. Accredited naturopathic massage specialist with raynor has been such an amazing experience.

Became beauty safe certified in esthetics, nails & advanced sterilization/sanitization in the spa environment. We are also a member of the beauty council to raise industry standards as we are not regulated as a industry.

Finished my relaxation massage therapist certification online to learn more in depth disorders society is coping with today & how the bodies hormones change our bodies when we struggle with depression, anxiety, stress & more. I then found a solution for my clients natural nail health with IBX training directly through the company to become educated on the brand.More education will be in the future to add to my knowledge in the beauty industry!!!>>

My Journey will be to upgrade to a CMP(Certified master pedicurist) which has 4 levels(completed level 3 out of 4) and get my chiropodist (foot specialist in gait/leg evaluations & prevention). This will take a few years to complete but I’m really excited to learn more and upgrade my pedicures with foot care knowledge to help a variety of conditions with the feet.

Finished my First lvl CMP in april 2018 and second Lvl (infection, protection & safety online) in March 2018. I continued my journey in june 2018 for lvl 3 CMP & it was such a eye opening experience. Lvl 4 has not been posted yet & is only offered once a year!!! Did the online exam and received my certification to use CMP at the end of my name and learned so much new information on overall foot health.

Certified Master Pedicurist opened up more advanced tools safe on senior & diabetic clients. Aswell a new reconstructive gel & ingrown toe brace product for extreme curve. Foot assessments to be able to refer to another professional to help with foot pain & management. New knowledge on dry pedicures & the importance with some clients. More knowledge with footlogix products, geriatric client base & foot problems/conditions. More knowledge with gait & leg evaluation to help clients walk better with foot props.

Since then I have upgraded in jade stone, lymphatic drainage massage, lava shell massage, glacial shell massage & more to come to bring different modalities to our town!

When the courses become available again I will more advanced skincare treatments within the spa. I see more medical services available to my clients in the future for overall health and wellness for the whole body.

More upgrading is in the future to advance my skills & knowledge in all aspects of my career.

My interests include both the holistic, natural, relaxation side of the spa/beauty industry but I also strongly believe in the benefits of the medical side as-well that help active ingredients dive deeper into our skin to give us a more noticeable change in the skin's appearance. <<Lasers, Chemical peels, and microdermabrasion >>>>etc Medical foot care is needed more these days as humanity is living longer than the previous generation with all the advances in western medication & surgeries.

So many new and exciting things are coming into the beauty industry and it most definitely keeps a beauty professional on their toes. Got to love going to the spa show every year for other beauty professionals providing education and insight on a industry that is forever changing.

The spa show keeps one up to date on beauty trends, all the in's and out's plus great sales on many brands and products. Well worth the time and money. Stay on top of your Beauty game!!!!

Defy the odds, work hard & thrive!!!! Rise above your story!!!! Raise standards in the industry!!! Educate clients!!! Growth!!!
